Château l'Escart, Cuvée Eden 2019

Our opinion: The dark color, tinged with purple, announces a beautiful youth and a restrained power. The sweet, even creamy nose gives pride of place to Merlot. A real basket of red berries dominated by raspberries and cuberdon. A finer analysis reveals sweet spices at the end of the mouth (the Malbec touch). The attack is velvety, very round. Then, fruity tannins line the mouth

Le Vigneron

Château l’Escart is a very beautiful 27 hectare estate in Bordeaux, entirely managed in biodynamics. It is managed by Gérard Laurent, a wine-navigator passionate about nature who wants to offer wines of great taste quality from fertile and healthy soil. The two go hand in hand according to him. This conviction also motivated his switch to biodynamics in 2009.

On his estate, nature and its preservation are an integral part of everyday life. Part of the estate is plowed with horse in order to preserve the old vines on the most beautiful plots. The Château cultivates a beautiful variety of grape varieties, allowing it to offer beautiful cuvées whether they are blended or single grape varieties.

L'Appellation

To qualify for the Bordeaux Supérieur appellation, wines must meet even more rigorous qualitative criteria than those of AOC Bordeaux. These wines must in particular be made from aged vines and be aged for a minimum of nine months before being marketed.

The AOC Bordeaux Supérieur applies to both red and white wines. However, the production of reds is significantly greater than that of whites. The red wines are made from the same grape varieties as those used for the Bordeaux appellation: Cabernet-Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc. Petit Verdot and Malbec are also additional grape varieties here. Red Bordeaux Supérieurs are more powerful than Bordeaux. Their range of aromas (red fruits, flowers and liquorice) is often more complex.
