The winemaker

Château l’Escart is a very beautiful 27 hectare estate in Bordeaux entirely managed in biodynamics. It is managed by Gérard Laurent, a wine-navigator passionate about nature who wants to offer wines of great taste quality from fertile and healthy soil. The two go hand in hand according to him. This conviction also motivated his switch to biodynamics in 2009. On his estate, nature and its preservation are an integral part of everyday life. Part of the estate is plowed with horse in order to preserve the old vines of the most beautiful plots. The Château cultivates a beautiful variety of grape varieties, allowing it to offer beautiful cuvées whether they are blended or single grape varieties.

The Appellation

The Cadillac – Côtes de Bordeaux appellation is part of the Entre-deux-Mers vineyard, recognized since 1973. On 210 ha of clay-limestone and gravel soils, the wines of Cadillac – Côtes de Bordeaux quite similar to those of Loupiac and Sainte-Croix-du-Mont. The Cadillac – Côtes de Bordeaux dress is intense, dark, with a deep burgundy tending to black.

On the nose, in their youth, these wines are marked by notes of red fruits, black berries (blackcurrant) and spices. As they age, perfumes gain in complexity and intensity. Notes of plums appear. Toast, coffee, vanilla and cinnamon are the hallmarks of wood. On the palate, the young wines are already very pleasant, tannic and fruity. They round off quickly and get better with age. After three to five years, they gain smoothness and flexibility.
