Description
What you needed to rediscover the Vacqueyras region!
One of the best red wine in this wine area.
Our opinion: A magnificent discovery in terms of quality! An excellent Vacqueyras. On the nose, we can directly feel sweet notes of cherry and blackberry, accompanied by a light side of coffee. On the palate, a very nice length directly expresses a fleshy and tannic side. All this while having a pretty finesse. Surprised by its suppleness and its peppery finish!

Wishing to respect as well as possible the nature of their terroirs and the typicity of their wines, the estate is certified in organic farming and has been practicing biodynamics for several years. They use no chemicals and produce natural, rich and complex wines.
The farm has existed since the early 1900s, but it was not until the 1950s that Maurice Bernard (the grandfather) favored the cultivation of the vine. Father Jacques Bernard, developed the vineyard by planting numerous plots of vines to reach a total area of 50 ha. In 2008, Philippe Bernard (son of Jacques) and Elisabeth (his wife) created their own winery and continued the work undertaken by their parents by applying for certification in organic farming. They are now the 5th generation of winegrowers, and cultivate 60 hectares of vines of prestigious appellations such as Vacqueyras, Baumes de Venise or Gigondas.
Vacqueyras takes its name from the Latin Vallea quadreria, the valley of stones. The last of the Rhône Valley municipal appellations, its area extends over the Vaucluse municipalities of Vacqueyras and Sarrians, at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail.
The Ouvèze river deposited there layers of rolled pebbles which moderate the summer drought. If they have acquired such notoriety, the winegrowers of Vacqueyras owe it above all to their complex and concentrated red wines.
The whites, Clairette, Grenache blanc, Bourboulenc and Roussanne. Full-bodied, round and full-bodied on the palate, the red wines of Vacqueyras have notes of red fruit and violet, but also aromas of liquorice and undergrowth.
