Domaine Clos Roca, Ecceterra 2019

Our opinionThis IGP Hérault Côtes du Cinterestou wine is a great discovery for the summer. It is a white wine with a white gold robe with green reflection, characteristic of a young wine. On the nose, it is very fresh, it brings out the citrus aromas and therefore this joyful side, spring, even summer! On the palate, there is a lot of freshness, and a touch of “Granny Smith” apple.

Le Vigneron

The estate mainly produces organic wines. They are located in the Hérault near Pézenas. The vines are planted with traditional grape varieties from the region such as Carignan, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Grenache, Alicante, Roussanne and Marsanne and complemented by Cabernet, Sauvignon and Merlot. The Grenache, Mourvèdre and Carignan are planted on a land of rolled pebbles and Villafranchian sand. The Roussanne and Marsanne are planted on a plot of basalt and limestone.

Attracted by the culture of the vine, passionate about wine, eager to produce true and authentic products, Louis Aleman, decided in 2009 to leave a salaried job in the industry to take over a small wine estate with the will shown to drive with the utmost respect for the environment. The Clos Roca estate is made up small plots surrounded by holm oaks or garrigues with the will to respect nature and the environment, wines presenting a beautiful typicity and an asserted personality.

The Cinterestou is a hill culminating at 207m of volcanic origin located in the department of Hérault, near Pézenas. The wine bearing the name of this mountainous elevation brings together 14 communes in the IGP Côtes du Cinterestou appellation.

It is between shaded undergrowth, very open areas and scrubland that we discover the noble grape varieties of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Syrah, Chardonnay, Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscat. White and rosé wines are the result of winemaking techniques allowing to obtain a permanent balance, to keep a
freshness and unique fruitiness.
