Description
A Cabernet Franc from the South, as we like it. A balance between lots of fruit and lots of tannins.
Our opinion : A 100% Cabernet Franc which presents itself very well!
On the nose, there is this dry side typical of the grape variety, as if a heavy summer rain is approaching.
On the palate, it has great potential because it can still develop. It is fresh on the palate and accompanied by a light attack!
Temperature service : 17 – 18°C
To drink : 2021 – 2023
Certification : In conversion to organic certification

Domaine Le Petit Tambour is located in Tourreilles (11300) in the Haute Vallée de l’Aude at the foot of the Pyrenees.
It is a family estate of 30 ha undergoing organic conversion.
The Estate is located just outside the village in a small valley where the vine is king.
The Domaine’s soils are predominantly clayey with the presence of pebbles or silt in some plots and therefore with some more or less compact or light variants. The vines are all close to the cellar to facilitate daily work.
This vineyard nestled in the south on the foothills of the Pyrenees is closed to the west by the Chalabre and Razès mountains, to the east by the Corbières and opens to the north on the Carcassonnais. Originality in the Languedoc region, it is subject to both the influences of the Mediterranean climate but also, and at least equally, those of the Atlantic Ocean. Added to this is the relatively high altitude of the vineyard which requires a choice of short-cycle grape varieties suitable for late springs and cool autumns.
The red IGP Haute Vallée de l’Aude wines have a garnet color with mauve reflections. On the nose, they deliver primary aromas on notes of red and black fruits, nice spicy aromas such as pepper are present. On the palate, the attack is supple, the substance is generous with good volume. The finish is surprising with notes of ripe red and black fruits.
