Mas du Goudareau, Cuvée Rasteau 2014

Our opinion : The Mas du Goudareau favors us with this very beautiful red wine in the Rasteau appellation! On the nose, it’s really good, with a handful of black fruits, star anise, clove. Because of all these different notes, it’s super complex and well balanced by acidity.
In the mouth, it sticks to the body, there is a little tannin. It’s a real mealtime wine! Perfect for accompany a good game, but not too rustic, because the wine is not.

Created in 1999 by Daniel and Hélène Boulle, the Mas du Goudareau estate is a family vineyard specializing in the production of quality wine. Concerned about respecting the fauna and flora, the estate produces since 2003 wines from organic and biodynamic viticulture controlled.

The harvest is done manually, 100% destemmed. Vinification is done in stainless steel tanks with temperature control and two pumping times a day. Maceration lasts between two and three weeks.

The cuvée in the Rasteau appellation is aged for a while in French barrels .

The AOC Rasteau is a Controlled Designation of Origin. This Appellation is located in the Rhône Valley, and the vineyard extends over the sole commune of Rasteau.

The appellation has been recognized since 1944 for its natural sweet wines. In 2010, it was also recognized for its dry red wines.

For the production of red wine, the main grape variety is Grenache Noir, but we also find Mourvèdre, Syrah and other complementary grape varieties.
