Description
An indigenous grape variety from a region that we love to find!
Sicily in all its splendor.
Our opinion : This Grillo is very pleasant on the nose. It’s pretty discreet. There are touches of almond, of dried fruits and even a little biscuit.
On the palate, we have a good length for a white wine, with acidity on the finish. which is well controlled thanks to this tight, clean side.
In the end, this is a fairly easy white wine, with hints of dried apricot. Perfect for the Aperitif!

The Villa Carumè estate is located in a unique agricultural context, owned by the Caruso family, which covers approximately 110 ha, of which 100 are cultivated in vines. The wines are produced in the heart of Sicily, in the north-west of the island, a region with a special vocation for the production of high quality grapes. This position exploits the climate maritime aspect of the nearby Mediterranean Sea and the intense light of the region, natural elements favorable to the cultivation of the vine.
The aim of the estate is to improve the quality of the different indigenous Sicilian varieties, exploiting the historical-human cultural heritage of the territory, without forgetting the international grape varieties which are now an integral part of the Sicilian tradition. Nero d’Avola, Perricone, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grillo, Insolia and Catarratto are grown here.
The DOC Sicilia denomination was created in 2011, from the previous IGT Sicilia, in 1995, in order to promote and preserve grape varieties native to the island. Its purpose is to make known the history of island wine and to safeguard the reputation of Sicilian culture in the wine sector.
Today, the DOC Sicilia denomination includes more than thirty types of wine, mainly red and white.
